NOTE: The candidate has to give an online test(no time limit) from anywhere.

Job Description

The role of web designer and developer will be to work on the UI design & development for the DC suite of applications which are primarily web-based.

The candidate should have experience on Ajax frameworks – specifically JQuery – preferably used with J2EE applications. The candidate should also have understanding of usability trends, recommendations and best practices and should be able to translate these in existing design wherever applicable.

The candidate will need to be professional in their approach to their work and exhibit a high level ownership within a demanding working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Designing the wire-frames and layout of the UI
Work with the analysts to understand functional problem being addressed by the design and come up with various UI option and ideas
Presenting the UI layouts to business and analysts
Integrating the design elements with J2EE based applications
Helping developers by providing templates of classes and styles that encapsulate the expected
UI and/or functional element of a web component
Apply best practices advocated by usability and accessibility guidelines
Ensure that UI conforms to relevant company standards
Ensure that work is completed with very high quality and is applied in a standard manner
across the product
Ensure adherence to change management processes and assist in facilitating the ongoing
review and enhancement of these processes.

Experience and Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University.
At least 3 years of Web designing and development experience in a commercial environment.

Essential Skills

Experience on standard UI development tools from Adobe
Proficient in jQuery and integration of jQuery with Struts 1.x
Experienced in definition classification schemes, navigation systems, design patterns to ensure consistency with product and experience design strategy.
Experience & good understanding of full development life cycle.
Knowledge of User Experience such as Usability, User centred design process and Usability Testing.

Desirable Skills / Experience

Understanding or experience of J2EE specifically JSPs and Struts
Understanding of branding aspects using classes and style sheets
Understanding of internationalisation aspects
Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-motivation is essential, should demonstrate commitment to high quality design and development.
Ability to develop & maintain working relationships with a number of stakeholders and senior professionals.
Flexibility and an open attitude to change.
Problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally, and to think with a medium term and long term perspective
Ability to work well under pressure and deliver high quality deliverables on time in a team environment
